SUMMARY:Nevada Interfaith Thanksgiving - Thirty Eighth Annual
DESCRIPTION:“Blessed are the Peacemakers”\nA Thanksgiving worship service of prayer and music from a variety of faith traditions\,\nsponsored by the Nevada Interfaith Association. \nWe have come together as God’s children to enrich our lives through an interfaith experience. During the service friends from various faiths will express praise and thanks according to their faith traditions. Portions of this service have also been selected to represent those elements of worship that are shared by all our traditions. \nOur Thanksgiving service is a beautiful way to give true meaning to the Thanksgiving Holiday. Focusing on the historical significance of Thanksgiving in music and the spoken word in multi-interfaith voices makes for a memorable evening.

SUMMARY:Northern Nevada Marches Forward - virtual forum on antisemitism
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, March 8th\, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. – Northern Nevada Marches Forward (NNMF)\, will host a virtual forum on rising antisemitism. This will be the first forum in a new Education & Action Series NNMF is hosting to bring light to important issues facing our community.\n\nAntisemitism is on the rise\nAntisemitism is gaining momentum not seen in decades. One in four American Jews say they have experienced antisemitism in the last year. \nOver the past several years\, we have seen an unprecedented spike in shootings\, murders\, hostage taking\, vandalism and threats and violence at our nation’s synagogues and in Jewish neighborhoods and places of business. Here in Reno\, one of our local synagogues has been vandalized and firebombed. There have been several instances of swastikas painted in residential and campus buildings at UNR and virulent antisemitic flyers appear all too often. At this forum\, Nevada residents will discuss rising incidents of antisemitism and how it’s impacting our local community. Speakers will include: Molly Rose Lewis\, Regional Representative for Nevada US Senator Jacky Rosen; Rabbi Benjamin Zober from Temple Sinai; Atty Garfinkel-Berry\, Director\,  Hillel of Northern Nevada; emeritus UNR Professor Deborah Achtenberg; Jolie Brislin\, Regional Director\, Anti-Defamation League – Nevada; and other local community members. \nCome learn about this growing problem and what we all can do to create a safer and more inclusive community for all. \nRegister Here \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease consider making a donation to help us cover the expenses of our ongoing events and forums. Thank you!
