SUMMARY:Nevada Interfaith Thanksgiving - Thirty Ninth Annual
DESCRIPTION:“The Power of Appreciation”\nA Thanksgiving worship service of prayer and song from a variety of faith traditions\,\nsponsored by the Nevada Interfaith Association.  We gather at 7pm at the Northern Nevada Muslim Community Center\n1855 Oddie Blvd. Sparks\, 89431 \nWe have come together as God’s children to enrich our lives through an interfaith experience. During the service friends from various faiths will express praise and thanks according to their faith traditions. Portions of this service have also been selected to represent those elements of worship that are shared by all our traditions. \nOur Thanksgiving service is a beautiful way to give true meaning to the Thanksgiving Holiday. Focusing on the historical significance of Thanksgiving in music and the spoken word in multi-interfaith voices makes for a memorable evening.

Whitlock Lax has kindly agreed to host this luncheon.\nTwice a year\, the NIA hosts a luncheon for those members of a religious organization and for those in non-profit organizations who also serve the community. The goal is to share information about what is happening in their respective areas and to promote the event for support if needed. Guest speakers offer insights and participants share what’s going on in their community. It is an opportunity to make friends and to build camaraderie as we understand our differences but respect what we have in common and aim to support one another in exercising our religious freedom.
